Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I confirm an order?
Email Fiona at info@fionakruger.com stating that you wish to confirm an order and the watch you have chosen. You will be sent further information on the watch and asked for additional details in order to prepare a pro forma invoice. Once the deposit amount on the pro forma invoice has been paid your order is secured.
How quickly will I get my watch?
All the watches are sent express delivery, it should arrive in your country 1-2 days after dispatch (or 3-4 days for more remote locations). The speed at which the piece is released from customs depends on how quickly the client liaises with the courier company handling the delivery of the watch. The courier company contacts the clients as soon as the piece arrives and any simple importation procedures can be done immediately to ensure a speedy delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, Fiona ships her watches to clients all over the world. The pieces are sent with a courier company specialising in the export of luxury watches in order to ensure fast and reliable delivery.
What are the shipping costs?
The shipping costs depend on the destination of the piece. When confirming an order please send Fiona the delivery address for the watch and she will send you a shipping estimate, including any potential import duties or taxes.
What after sales service do you offer?
Each watch comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a 2 Year Warranty. Any mechanical defects related to the production of your piece are covered under this Warranty - if you send the watch back to Fiona she will have it repaired for you. The Warranty does not cover standard ware and tear or careless handling of your watch, however she is happy to provide any required servicing to her clients to ensure they can enjoy their timepieces for years to come.
What documentation comes with my watch?
Each of Fiona's watches are sent out with a Certificate of Authenticity and a Warranty. For more information on these please email Fiona directly.
Where is my watch made?
Fiona's watches are made in Switzerland with suppliers who are all located in the Jura region - known as heart of the watchmaking industry. Being so close to each other means Fiona can easily visit each of them regularly to oversee the production of each of her timepieces.
How many watches do you make?
Fiona produces all of her watches in limited editions of between 12 and 24 pieces worldwide. Custom orders are made one at a time. She does not keep stock to sell off later, but rather produces each edition or each watch especially for her clients. The limited edition pieces are therefore sold on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.
How much does a watch cost?
The cost of a watch varies depending on what kind of piece it is. The price for a limited edition piece will not be the same as a custom order or an entirely new design. When buying one of Fiona’s watches, clients know they are buying a truly bespoke timepiece made specially for them by the best supplies and artisans in the Swiss watchmaking industry.
How long will it take to produce my watch?
Watches can take anywhere from 3 months to 3 years to produce depending on what you wish to order. Limited edition watches are produced in 8 – 12 weeks. Custom pieces can take 8 - 24 months to produce depending on the level of customisation required, though Fiona tries to get these pieces made in the shortest time possible without compromising on quality. If a client wishes a watch which has been developed entirely for them, this can take 12 – 18 months, including the development and design stages.
How do you ensure quality?
Knowing the suppliers and artisans making her watches is a key part of Fiona's production process. She collaborates with a selected network of key supply partners and follows the production of each of her watches from start to finish. Fiona works with artisans and manufacturers who are themselves experts in their field and produce parts for recognised high-end watch brands as well as independent maisons, meaning their quality standards are high at the offset. She is there at every step of the production process from design to dispatch.
Who is Fiona Krüger?
Fiona Krüger is a designer with a background in both Fine Art and Product Design. A passion for hand-made objects, tradition and craftsmanship are at the core of her work. She is originally from Scotland and discovered the world of haute horlogerie during her studies in Switzerland, which lead her to first time-piece: the SKULL watch, and subsequently launch her brand, Fiona Krüger Timepieces in 2013.
Fiona’s unique design process has been called a “New Metier D’Art” in itself, as she transforms mechanical watches into emotive timepieces. Her creative interpretation of mechanical watchmaking stems from her artistic sensibility and multicultural influences. She has years developing her designs and collaborating with the best artisans and manufacturers in Switzerland, who now produce all her pieces.
What is your design philosophy?
Fiona has an artistic approach to haute horlogerie, through the integration of Art with “Swiss Made” craftsmanship and technology. Fiona’s passion for hand-made objects, tradition and craftsmanship means that she makes her watches in limited editions of the highest quality. She uses the same manufacturing processes and suppliers as high-end watch brands but has taken the decision to make a few unique pieces at a time to allow her to develop more avant-garde designs on a regular basis. This personal approach allows her to collaborate closely with the artisans and manufacturers she partners with whilst following the production of each watch from start to finish.
How are your pieces unique?
The design of Fiona’s first SKULL collaction is safeguarded by an internationally recognised design protection. Any new designs are also protected by Fiona as well as any future mechanical developments. Each piece is conceived and designed by Fiona and produced in collaboration with a few key suppliers in Switzerland with whom she has a long standing relationship.
